FAQ
1. Which regions will Lumos Ultra ship to, and when will shipping begin?
We plan to ship to the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and the European Union, with shipping beginning in late June / early July. Orders will be fulfilled in sequence based on backing order after the campaign ends. Backers who pay in full will enter the shipping queue immediately. Backers using installment payments will enter the shipping queue after the final payment is completed.
2. What is the difference between a UV laser and a diode laser?
The key differences are:
- Wavelength: UV lasers use a shorter wavelength, allowing better absorption on transparent and reflective materials.
- Heat impact: UV lasers generate less heat, reducing burn marks and material deformation.
- Material compatibility: UV lasers can engrave glass and clear acrylic directly, which diode lasers typically cannot.
3. Does it support rotary engraving?
Yes. The Lumos Ultra supports rotary attachments (sold separately or included depending on the bundle). This allows engraving on cylindrical objects such as tumblers, rings, and bottles.
4. What accessories are supported by the Lumos Ultra laser?
The Lumos Ultra laser supports a wide range of optional accessories to expand its functionality:
- Rotary Attachment – For engraving cylindrical objects such as tumblers, bottles, rings, and pipes.
- Slide Extension (Slider) – Extends the engraving length for larger flat materials.
- Conveyor Feeder (Automatic Conveyor) – Enables batch processing and continuous engraving.
- 60W / 100W MOPA Laser Source (Optional Upgrade) – Designed for users who require deeper engraving,
enhanced color marking on metals, and more industrial-level applications.
These accessories allow the Lumos Ultra to adapt to hobby, business, and light industrial production needs.
5. What is the camera system for?
It includes a 50MP camera for precise positioning and real-time previews, making design alignment easier and more accurate.
6. What is the working area of the Lumos Ultra laser?
The working area varies depending on the selected mode and accessory:
- Flat Engraving Mode: 210 × 210 mm
- 3D Crystal Engraving (Inner Engraving): 70 × 70 × 135 mm
- With Slide Extension: 183 × 520 mm
- Rotary + Slider Combination:
Maximum diameter: 100 mm
Maximum length: 380 mm - Conveyor Feeder Mode:
Single processing area: 206 × 206 mm
Supports continuous cycle engraving for batch production
This modular design ensures flexibility for small detailed projects as well as extended and batch engraving tasks.
7. What materials can WeCreat Lumos Ultra 6W UV + 60W/100W MOPA laser engrave?
8. Can the Lumos Ultra laser engrave transparent materials?
Yes. Unlike diode lasers, UV lasers operate at a shorter wavelength, which allows them to engrave directly on transparent materials such as glass without applying coatings.
9. Can Lumos Ultra laser engrave in multiple colors?
Yes. The 60W/100W MOPA laser can engrave in 100+ different colors.
10. What is the main difference between the 60W and 100W MOPA?
11. Why is it only 6W for UV laser? Is 6W powerful enough?
Yes, 6W is absolutely sufficient for a UV laser system.
UV lasers work differently from diode or CO₂ lasers. Thanks to the shorter 355nm wavelength, UV light is absorbed much more efficiently by many materials. This allows the Lumos Ultra 6W to achieve:
- Extremely fine detail engraving
- High-contrast marking
- Minimal heat impact
- Clean results on delicate materials
Higher wattage is not always better for UV applications. In fact, excessive power may damage fine materials. The 6W output is carefully optimized for precision engraving, color marking, and detailed 3D work.
12. Does the Lumos Ultra support multiple field lenses?
Yes. The Lumos Ultra supports interchangeable field lenses.
Green field lens for crystal inner engraving
Purple field lens for flat or cylindrical engraving
Red field lens for MOPA device using
Users can choose the appropriate lens based on their application needs. Please refer to the product specifications for compatible lens models.
13. What materials are suitable for 3D internal engraving?
Currently K9 crystal only. It allows the UV laser to focus energy inside the material without damaging the surface.
14. What software does the Lumos Ultra support?
The Lumos Ultra supports:
- WeCreat official software (recommended for optimized compatibility)
- LightBurn (depending on version compatibility and configuration)
The official software provides guided setup, parameter presets, and easier workflow. Advanced users may adjust detailed parameters such as power, frequency, and speed for professional applications.
15. Does it support mobile devices?
No. The Lumos Ultra currently supports computer-based software only.
It is compatible with:
- Windows
- macOS
Mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets are not supported at this time. For the best performance and full functionality, we recommend using a desktop or laptop computer.
